A major heritage conservation programme will be launched on May 2 at 10:30 am at Halagundi Basaveshwara Temple premises in Lakkundi under Gadag district. The event will include foundation laying for conservation and development of six monuments under Lakkundi Heritage Area Development Authority and the unveiling of Dasha Temple and Dasha Wells. A week-long archaeological exploration programme will also begin. Senior leaders including Legislative Council Speaker Basavaraj Horatti and Minister Dr. H. K. Patil will attend. The project covers temples and historic wells such as Chandramouleshwara and Virupaksheshwara temples. Officials said the initiative aims to protect and promote Karnataka’s rich heritage sites for future generations.
