Rajat Chauhan honored for historic archery success

Jaipur

India’s star archer Rajat Chauhan has been awarded the prestigious DGP Commendation Disc for his exceptional contributions to sports. The honor was presented by Rajasthan’s Director General of Police, Rajeev Kumar Sharma, in recognition of Chauhan’s consistent success at both national and international levels. Chauhan, who serves as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in the Rajasthan Police, has become one of the force’s most decorated athletes.

Chauhan expressed deep gratitude upon receiving the award, stating that he is immensely happy to be honored by his own department. He vowed to continue bringing glory to the Rajasthan Police and the nation through his performances. His career is filled with milestones, including winning multiple gold medals at the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 World Police Games. Most recently, he secured a gold and two bronze medals at the 2026 Asia Archery Cup.

Beyond his current achievements, Chauhan is looking toward a long held dream. For years, he has envisioned competing on the world’s biggest stage. Back in 2016, he even got a tattoo of the Olympic rings on his arm as a symbol of his ambition. That dream recently became a reality when compound archery was officially added to the program for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

With his department’s backing and a renewed sense of purpose, Chauhan is now focused on the road to 2028. He remains a key figure in India’s archery dominance, proving that dedication in uniform and on the field can lead to historic recognition.
