A case has been registered in Bidar district over alleged misuse of ₹19.60 lakh from a Gram Panchayat Level Federation account in Ladwanti Gram Panchayat of Basavakalyan taluk. Authorities said funds belonging to a women’s federation linked to local development were reportedly misappropriated. A panchayat accountant, Anita, has been accused in the matter. Following a complaint by officials, police at Manthal Police Station have launched an investigation. Authorities said strict action will follow if charges are proven. The case has raised concerns over financial accountability and transparency in local governance bodies.
