Sebastian Korda stuns World Number One Alcaraz

MIAMI
American tennis star Sebastian Korda pulled off the biggest upset of the Miami Open, knocking out world number one Carlos Alcaraz. In a tense battle that lasted over two hours, the 36th-ranked Korda showed incredible nerve to win 6-3, 5-7, 6-4, securing a spot in the fourth round.
Korda came out swinging, taking the first set with aggressive play and confident serving. However, Alcaraz proved why he is at the top of the rankings by mounting a fierce comeback in the second set. The Spaniard reeled off five straight games to level the match, leaving many to believe the momentum had shifted for good.
But Korda refused to fade. In the final set, he regained his composure and broke Alcaraz’s serve at a critical moment to lead 4-3. Despite the pressure of the home crowd and Alcaraz’s legendary defense, Korda finished the match with a powerful serve that the Spaniard couldn’t return.
“I took the scenic route,” Korda joked after the match, admitting he had to do some “soul-searching” after losing the second set. The win is a massive milestone for Korda, who recently returned from a long injury break. For Alcaraz, who already won the Australian Open this year to complete a career Grand Slam, it was a rare early exit. Korda now prepares to face young qualifier Martin Landaluce in the next round, hoping to carry this giant-killing momentum even further.
