Minister launches road development work in Sedam

Patil stated Karnataka’s five guarantee schemes aid economically weaker sections, significantly improving the lives of many families statewide

SEDAM

Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil on Sunday laid the foundation stone for road improvement work connecting Kodla Cross to Kodla village in Sedam taluk.

The project has been sanctioned under the Chief Minister’s Infrastructure Development Plan for the year 2025–26. The road development work begins from Kodla Cross in Sedam town on State Highway 15 and will improve connectivity for nearby villages.

Speaking at the event, the minister said Congress governments, from the time of Indira Gandhi to the present government led by Siddaramaiah, have introduced many schemes aimed at empowering poor families while also focusing on overall development of the state.

Patil said the state government has implemented five guarantee schemes to support people from economically weaker sections. According to him, these programmes have helped improve the lives of many families across Karnataka.

Responding to criticism from the opposition, the minister said claims that the state will not develop because of guarantee schemes are incorrect. He added that the government is carrying out development works in villages across the state while continuing welfare programmes.

Patil also rejected allegations that the state government has fallen into a debt trap. He said the administration is working responsibly to protect the interests of ordinary citizens and ensure development in rural and urban areas.

During the programme, the minister said development works carried out in the last two decades can be clearly shown through records and reports.

Several officials and local leaders attended the event, including Tahsildar Sriyanka Dhanashree, E.O. Chennappa Rayannavar, and Congress leaders Mahantappa Sangavi, Basavaraj Patil Udagi, Shivsharan Reddy Patil and Ravindra Nandigam.
