Cong worried about Delhi blast ‘timing’: Ravi

BENGALURU

Former BJP National General Secretary and MLC CT Ravi has accused the Congress-led Karnataka government of being more concerned about political timing than public safety following the recent Delhi bomb blast.

Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru on Thursday, Ravi alleged that Congress leaders were “worried about the blast’s timing before the Bihar elections” instead of mourning the potential loss of lives.

Ravi claimed the accused — identified as Dr. Umar, Dr. Adil, Dr. Shaheena, and Dr. Mohiuddin — had converted Al-Falah Medical College into a “terror hub” and stored over 3,000 kg of RDX, which he said could have destroyed an entire city like Bengaluru. He also alleged that the group had developed ricin poison, capable of killing thousands, and that their foiled plan could have led to one of the most devastating terror attacks in India.

Criticizing the Congress, Ravi said, “Instead of worrying about lives lost, they’re anxious about why the blast occurred before elections. Is that your real fear — being compared with terrorists?” He accused the party of being “intellectually bankrupt.”

The BJP leader defended India’s intelligence agencies, citing recent anti-terror operations in Punjab, Delhi, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan. He pointed out that several terror networks linked to Pakistan’s ISI and ISIS-inspired groups had been busted in October and November.

Ravi concluded that the nation’s security forces had successfully averted larger threats and urged political leaders to prioritize national security over election politics.
