Tamil superstar Suriya is gearing up for a strong comeback with his upcoming rural action drama Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji. Though the film was originally planned for a Diwali 2025 release, production delays caused by extensive CG work have pushed back its arrival.
Industry buzz now suggests that the makers are eyeing a January 23, 2026 release, hoping to take advantage of the Republic Day weekend. If confirmed, the timing could give Karuppu a significant boost at the box office, with the long weekend offering ample opportunity for a wider audience turnout. However, an official announcement regarding the new release date is still awaited.
To keep fans excited, the team dropped the first single, “God Mode,” on Diwali. Composed by Sai Abhyankkar, the track has been receiving a positive response for its energetic beats and catchy lyrics.
The film stars Trisha Krishnan as the female lead, reuniting her with Suriya after several years. Karuppu is produced by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu under the Dream Warrior Pictures banner, known for backing strong, content-driven films.
With a promising cast, powerful music, and a festive release window on the horizon, Karuppu could be the big-screen comeback fans have been waiting for from Suriya.
