The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has intensified its investigation into the ongoing drug and money laundering case involving actor Srikanth, after he failed to appear for questioning on Tuesday. Srikanth reportedly sent a letter to the ED requesting a new date for his appearance.
The actor was summoned to explain financial transactions allegedly linked to the drug case. His absence has prompted investigators to gather additional evidence and reassess the direction of the probe. Sources confirmed that both Srikanth and actor Krishna will be re-summoned soon for further questioning.
The case dates back to June, when actors Srikanth and Krishna were arrested on charges of drug use. Their arrest followed the detention of former AIADMK executive T. Prasad, who was accused of drug trafficking. During the investigation, authorities also arrested two others — a man named Kevin, based on suspicious bank transactions, and a Ghanaian national, John, for allegedly supplying drugs. Officials seized ₹40,000 in cash during the raids, expanding the probe to an international level.
Investigators believe Srikanth’s non-appearance could impact the ongoing inquiry. A new hearing date is expected soon, where both actors will be questioned again.
Meanwhile, on the professional front, Srikanth was last seen in Blackmail alongside GV Prakash Kumar. Despite the ongoing investigation, the actor continues to shoot for upcoming Tamil and Telugu projects.
