Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar reaffirmed his deep commitment to his home district Ramanagara, stating, I am born here, I will live here and die here, during a birth anniversary event of Devaraj Urs. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized that his focus remains on empowering local residents rather than personal gain.
Shivakumar outlined plans for land distribution, noting that 100 acres of sites have already been allocated to the needy. Officials have been instructed to clear Bagar Hukum and other lands, and DK Suresh has been tasked with overseeing the initiative. He highlighted that previous administrations, including former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy and minister Ashwathnarayan, failed to provide land to local residents, alleging that political leaders missed opportunities to assist the public during their tenures.
God has given me the opportunity to serve. What is the point of power if it cannot help people? he said. Shivakumar stressed that his administration’s efforts are guided by principles, aiming for equitable development. He praised Devaraj Urs, noting that despite his royal lineage, Urs implemented numerous schemes to uplift marginalized communities and promote social justice in a secular manner. The Deputy Chief Minister reaffirmed his long-term vision, asserting that the government will continue working for the welfare of the poor and ensure access to resources for all communities. He also expressed confidence in the party’s political strength, predicting continued governance in 2028.
