The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has cleared director Koushik Pegallapati’s horror thriller Kishkindhapuri with an ‘A’ certificate, allowing it to release worldwide on September 12. Starring Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas and Anupama Parameswaran in lead roles, the film has already generated high curiosity among audiences.
Produced by Sahu Garapati under Shine Screens, the team officially announced on X that the film had been certified without cuts. Get ready to scream and experience new-age horror in its biggest form. Kids and the faint-hearted, stay away, the production house wrote, further heightening expectations.
The recently released trailer has fueled the buzz even more. It introduces Kishkindhapuri as a haunted place ruled by evil forces. Bellamkonda and Anupama play tour guides who take visitors on a ghost-walk. What begins as a routine trip quickly turns into a horrifying experience, leaving everyone trapped in terror. Anupama’s character fears for the group’s safety, while Bellamkonda assures her that no harm will come to them—setting the stage for a chilling battle with the supernatural.
Earlier, the makers confirmed that Anupama had completed dubbing for her portions. A first glimpse released in April gave fans a spine-chilling preview, ending with Bellamkonda declaring Aham Mrityu (I am death) as his eyes turned ghostly white.
On the technical front, Chunmay Salaskar’s cinematography, Chaitan Bharadwaj’s background score, and strong production design by Manisha A. Dutt promise to elevate the eerie atmosphere. The crew also includes art director D. Siva Kamesh, editor Niranjan Devaramane, creative head G. Kanishka, and co-writer Darahas Palakollu.
With its certification in place and buzz at its peak, Kishkindhapuri is gearing up to be one of the most awaited horror releases of the year.
