Writer Banu Mushtaq, who has been chosen as the inaugurator of this year’s Nada Habba Mysuru Dasara festival, was officially invited by the District Administration on Wednesday.
Officials visited her residence in Hassan and extended the invitation. She was welcomed in the traditional manner with a Mysuru turban, fruits, and flowers.
Mysuru Deputy Commissioner J. Lakshmikant Reddy, who is also the Special Officer for Dasara, Zilla Panchayat CEO S. Yukesh Kumar, Additional DC Dr. P. Shivaraju, Chamundeshwari Temple Development Authority Secretary M. J. Roopa, and members of the Reception Committee were present on the occasion.
Banu Mushtaq has thanked the state government in general and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in particular for having invited her to open this year’s Dasara festival atop the Chamundi Hill on September 22.
