Megastar Amitabh Bachchan expressed immense pride in his son Abhishek Bachchan after he won the Best Actor award at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM). He described Abhishek as the pride and honour of the family.
Abhishek received the accolade for his performance in I Want to Talk at the festival, which began on Thursday and will conclude on August 24. Amitabh shared pictures of his son on his personal blog, including one of Abhishek holding the award and another featuring him on a magazine cover.
In his post, Amitabh wrote, The happiest father in the universe… Abhishek, you carry forward the flag that Dada ji established with courage and hard work. Your consistency, determination, and resilience—rising taller every time life pulled you down—have made this moment possible. You have earned your recognition purely on your talent. No gift can be greater for a father.
He also recalled how people once criticized him for openly praising his son. Years ago, I celebrated your work and performance, and many mocked my pride. Today, that mockery has turned into respect and admiration, he added.
Concluding his heartfelt note, Amitabh said, Winning is the ultimate answer to challenges. The price of success is high, but so are the rewards. Abhishek, you have proven this, and with all my love, I remain a very proud father.
