Kichcha Sudeepa appeals: Adopt Indies, show kindness

Actor Kichcha Sudeepa has spoken out with concern over the Supreme Court’s recent order to relocate all stray dogs in Delhi-NCR to shelters within eight weeks. In a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter), he urged the public to consider adopting Indian breed dogs, often called “Indies.”

Sudeepa said he respected the court’s decision, which was likely made for safety reasons, but he worried about the emotional and physical toll it could have on the animals. “They didn’t choose the streets, but we can choose to give them a home,” he wrote.

Sharing his personal connection, Sudeepa revealed that he grew up around community dogs and that his own family has adopted Indies. “I can attest to the love and loyalty they bring,” he said, encouraging people to become the “voice for the voiceless.”

The court’s ruling came after a disturbing news report highlighted rising stray dog attacks and related rabies cases, particularly affecting children and the elderly. The court ordered strict removal of all stray dogs from localities and warned against any interference.

Sudeepa’s message stands as a reminder of compassion amidst growing public debate, calling for humane choices like adoption over displacement.
