Seshadripuram police have arrested three individuals involved in registering a Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) plot using forged documents, authorities confirmed on Sunday. Among those arrested is Chikkarai K.N. (62), a retired BDA special assistant, along with Muralidhar (60) and Manjunath (48). The arrests followed a thorough investigation initiated after a complaint by BDA vigilance officers.
The case centers on a 40×60 plot in the 2nd block of Arkavati Layout, originally allotted to Bylappa in 2006. In 2018, the BDA allotted a replacement plot in the 3rd block of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout. Following Bylappa’s death in 2019, his wife, Lakshmi Devamma, submitted an application to transfer the plot rights to her name. However, during verification, officials discovered that a fraudulent application had been submitted by an impersonator claiming to be the original allottee, securing the replacement site unlawfully.
An Internal inquiry by the BDA revealed a conspiracy involving the retired special assistant Chikkarai, broker Muralidhar, and Manjunath, who falsely presented himself as Bylappa’s son. The investigation exposed coordinated efforts to manipulate official records and illegally obtain property rights.
Police confirmed that an FIR has been filed and the three accused have been taken into judicial custody. Authorities have urged the public to exercise caution and verify documents thoroughly when dealing with property transactions. The police warned that strict action would be taken against anyone attempting similar fraudulent activities, emphasizing vigilance in safeguarding public assets and preventing manipulation of government records.
