Authorities at Parappana Agrahara jail uncovered a shocking case of mobile phone smuggling involving prison staff. The driver, identified as Bhanuprakash, was caught red-handed while attempting to enter the jail premises on July 25. The vigilant Karnataka State Industrial Security Force (KSISF) staff intercepted and searched him, leading to the discovery of a mobile phone concealed in his underwear. Chief Jail Superintendent Mallikarjuna immediately filed a complaint in this regard. Following the incident, Bhanuprakash was promptly arrested, and an investigation has been launched to determine the intended recipient of the smuggled mobile phone. This incident has raised serious concerns about the involvement of some prison staff in facilitating illegal activities within the jail premises. Authorities are committed to cracking down on such illicit practices and maintaining the security and integrity of the correctional facility.
