Girl Selected For World Dwarf Games Faces Financial Difficulties To Travel To Germany

Nothing can come in the way of people who are determined to achieve. This has been shown by the girl from the district. She has brought laurels to the district by overcoming his disability and getting selected for the World Dwarf Games. Manjula Shivananda Goraguddi, a resident of Chikkanandi village in Gokak Taluk   will be representing India in the discus and shot put events at the World Dwarf Games, which begins in Germany from July 28. She will leave for Germany from Bengaluru on Tuesday. Of the eight sportspersons selected from Karnataka, Manjula is the only woman player.

All these players had recently met Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot in Bengaluru. Manjula was paid Rs 2.50 lakh to go to Germany.  She has borrowed interest to raise such a huge amount of money.   I will go to Germany, win the Games and win a gold medal, he said.

Born in a poor family, Manjula has a law degree and wants to serve the people as a lawyer. She currently works as a rural rehabilitation worker in the local Gram Panchayat. She   lost her father and lives with his mother, brother and two married sisters. Manjula said, I have been participating in sports for the last three years. So far, I have won two gold medals at the national level and three at the state level. It’s a pleasure to go to Germany now. But I’m going on a loan. Some donors have done their bit to help. It will be very beneficial if more sports lovers come forward to help me. Mother Holavva said, we are very happy to see our daughter’s achievement. She will win this time too, he said.
