Mollywood director Deepu Karunakaran has officially announced a sequel to Jayaram’s underrated horror thriller film ‘Winter’ on the last day, and according to the latest updates, the second part will have an entirely different storyline with an all-new cast.
Director Deepu Karunakaran has reportedly told the media that the sequel to Winter will start rolling from August 17 onwards, and the new cast in the film will also be announced shortly.
Sarath Vinayak is roped in as the writer for the Winter’ sequel, and the music is composed by Manu Ramesh. Pratheep Nair will be the cinematographer for the horror thriller, which has Arun Thomas handling the editing section. Even though Winter didn’t turn out to be a super hit when it hit the big screens in 2009, the film earned cult status after several years. ‘Winter’ is still considered the ‘best horror thriller’ in Mollywood and resembles the classic Hollywood films Halloween and Scream. Expectations are quite high for Winter 2 among cinephiles.
On the other hand, Deepu Karunakaran’s previous directorial outing was with the sports drama film Karingunnam 6, starring Manju Warrier in the lead.
