Hema Malini recently opened up about her unconventional married life with her husband Dharmendra. The veteran actress added that she doesn’t feel bad about living in a separate house from him.
In an interview with a news portal, Hema said that nobody wants to live like that and that it just happens. According to her, every woman wants to have a husband and children like a normal family.
However, the actress added that she doesn’t feel bad about living separately from Dharmendra as he has always been there for them, despite their unusual living arrangements.
Hema and Dharmendra tied the knot in 1980. At the time, Dharmendra was already married to Prakash Kaur, with whom he has four children — sons Sunny and Bobby, and daughters Ajeeta and Vijeta. With Hema, he has two daughters, Esha and Ahana.
Recently, Dharmendra had shared a heartfelt note for Hema and his daughters Esha Deol and Ahana Deol, saying that his advanced age and ill health prevents him from personally telling them about the love and respect he has for them.
The veteran star’s post had come days after the marriage of Sunny Deol’s son Karan Deol to longtime girlfriend Drisha Acharya. Hema, who is Dharmendra’s second wife, and her daughters were absent from the wedding festivities.
On the work front, Dharmendra will next be seen in Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ with Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. It is slated to hit the theatres on July 28. He is also a part of Dinesh Vijan’s next with Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon.
