Police Top Brass Reshuffled, Hithendra Is New ADGP Of Law And Order

In the latest reshuffle, the Karnataka government transferred four senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. The state government has appointed R Hithendra as the new Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Law and Order. Hitendra was the ADGP Crimes and Technical Services, Bengaluru, before his new posting. The order said that Alok Kumar, the ADGP Law and Order, has been transferred as the ADGP Traffic and Road Safety, Bengaluru, in the upgraded vacant post. Apart from the two, the state government also transferred Umesh Kumar, Administration, Bengaluru, and Soumendu Mukherjee, ADGP Police Computer Wing, Bengaluru. Kumar and Mukherjee were transferred as ADGPs of Crimes and Technical Services, and Administration, respectively. This is one of the significant reshuffles of police brass in the state since the Congress government came to power. Last month, the government appointed B Dayananda, ADGP Intelligence, as the new Bengaluru Police Commissioner. Dr MA Saleem, who was the Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) for Bengaluru, was promoted and posted as Director General of Police (DGP) of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) (Special Units & Economic Offences).
