Numerous fans of Don Jayaraj, a taming bull, celebrated the animal’s birthday in Devihosur village of the district with pomp and gaiety. The prize bull’s fans, including its owner Suraj Kallammanavar, brought a huge cake and cut it in front of the bull. Organisers honoured farmers on the occasion. Lunch was organised for the participants.
According to the organisers, Don Jayaraj has won several bull-taming events and has thousands of fans. His followers wished him well.
Varthur Santosh, who is a prominent seller of Hallikar breed cattle in Bengaluru participated in Don Jayaraj’s birthday. He said the bull-taming game held in Haveri district has many fans. Well-trained Hallikar breed bulls have won many awards in bull-taming games because they have strength. We plan to organise a bull-taming game in Bengaluru. I will have more than 300 famous bulls participating. Most of the bulls participating will be from the district, he said. He hoped and advised that people should save Hallikar local breed cattle as it is precious.
