City South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath of the BJP alleged that Congress is trying to betray the people of Karnataka by introducing more conditions for the implementation of its poll guarantees.
The Congress has secured majority through various promises and now they have given only principle approval for the guarantees. However, they are saying more conditions will be applied for all the guarantees and it is a clear indication that they are trying to betray people,” Kamath said.
Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah promised the implementation of guarantee schemes in all poll rallies, but they never mentioned any conditions. Lakhs of women in the state voted for the Congress expecting free pilgrimage to Dharmastala, Rameshwara, Tirupati, Mantralaya and other religious places. However, the Congress leaders are saying that there is no such guarantee. Do not add conditions to the guarantee schemes after the victory. Implement the schemes without introducing conditions, he added.
