After record selling in FY 2021-22, Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPI) continued their withdrawal in the last financial year as well. In the last financial year, FPI has withdrawn Rs 37,631 crore from the Indian stock market. This trend was observed amid rate hikes by central banks globally. However, VK Vijayakumar, chief investment strategist, Geojit Financial Services, says that this trend of outflows may reverse in the current financial year. He says that in the financial year 2023-24, there is a lot of growth potential in India, in such a situation, the attitude of foreign investors may change.
Market analysts believe that the trend of FPI in the current financial year will depend on many different factors. These factors include the policy of the US Federal Reserve, volatility in oil prices and the geo-political situation.
