Shashikala Jolle, Minister of Mujrai, Haj and Waqf has instructed the department officials to issue a circular to endowment temples of the state to observe Ugadi, the ffirst day of the Hindu New year as Religious Day every year in the state.
Many departments in the state celebrate their Department Day in a day of the year, in the name of having their own mission and vision. Similarly, since the charitable endowment department is also had religious background and attitude,we thought it was appropriate to celebrate the day as a religious day. But in some and observing lunar ugadi and others as solar ugadi. On this background, we have notified temples of our department to observe religious day on Shubhakurt samvatsar of Solar and Lunar days, the minister said.
On that day, all the notified temples have to organize functions to attract the attention of public about the culture, heritage of the country and also read out the almanac and make awareness about good results of the new year, income, expenditure, movement of stars.
The program should be organized at all notified temples on that day to attract the attention of the public on our Indian culture by making a special almanac auditorium so that the public can get a glimpse of the New Year’s greetings, revenues and the fruits of the stars.
Also, on Lunar Ugadi Day, the minister has instructed the authorities to distribute neem leavess and jaggery in the temples as is customary, in order to cultivate a balanced attitude of accepting the difficult pleasures of life. The Minister has instructed the Department of Religious Endowment to issue a circular in this regard.
