Protest on March 28, 29 to meet various demands of workers

The Joint committee of labour unions of Mysuru District have organized a protest on March 28 and 29 demanding solutions to their problems, said Chandrashekar, AITUC member.

  He was addressing a press conference at the journalists’ conference hall.  On the 28th, a march and protest will be held in taluk centers and in front of Mysuru district office from 11.30 am to 1 pm.   A procession will be carried out from Gandhi Circle and a public meeting is arranged in front of Corporation office, at 11.30 am on 29th March, he said.

 As decided at the Delhi Convention of the Central Labor Organizations against the anti-people, anti-peasantry policies of the central government, INTUC, AETTUC and HMS, CTTU, AIUTUC, AICCTU, TUCC, CWA, LPF apart from Independent All India organizations, Insurance, Bank and other establishments are taking part in the protest, he said.

In the protest, the main demands are to control the price raise of Petrol, Diesel, Cooking gas and other essential commodities, to reduce the excise duty imposed on petroleum products, to transfer an amount of Rs 7500 to every family who are out of the income tax perview, to abolish the four labour laws favouring the corporate investors, to protect the labour rights, to take back the Electricity (Amendment) Act along with the Farm Laws, to frame a constitutional mnimum price act, to take back the pro-farmer laws implemented by the state government, to implement social security for Anganwadi, Asha workers, workers engaged in preparing mid day meals and other schemes.  To augment the national economy, rich must be imposed property tax and increase funding towards agriculture, education, health and other public services, he said.
