Ahead of Modi’s Bihar visit on September 15, he’ll rally in Purnea and launch ₹45,000 crore projects

With Bihar gearing up for Assembly elections likely in October-November, RJD leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the BJP. He accused the party of showing “poll-time interest” in the state while ignoring people’s issues once elections are over.
“Now that elections are near, Bihar suddenly matters to them. After polls, they will forget the people again,” Tejashwi told IANS. He asserted that change was inevitable, citing rising unemployment, corruption, and growing dissatisfaction. “This time, change is certain. People are tired of unemployment, corruption, and many other issues,” he said.
The remarks come ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Bihar on September 15, where he is expected to address a major rally in Purnea and inaugurate projects worth over ₹45,000 crore.
Tejashwi also announced the restart of his ‘Bihar Adhikar Yatra’ on September 16. “We had already covered 20 districts. Now we will reach the remaining ones to ensure our message reaches every corner,” he said. The yatra aims to strengthen RJD’s grassroots presence and mobilise public support.
He further extended good wishes to Nepal’s newly appointed acting Prime Minister, former Chief Justice Sushila Karki, who assumed office after the fall of the KP Sharma Oli government amid mass protests. “I hope she fulfils the hopes and aspirations of the people of Nepal,” Tejashwi said.
As Bihar’s political temperature rises, the RJD is banking on anti-incumbency sentiments, while the BJP-led NDA will highlight development projects. The stage is set for an intense election season, with both sides preparing for a high-stakes contest.
