Bruno Fernandes chooses not to worry about public opinion

Manchester

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes says he cannot control how people see him and chooses not to worry about public opinion. Speaking ahead of Sunday’s Manchester Derby against Manchester City, the Portuguese star opened up about dealing with criticism.

“People have opinions, and I can’t change that,” Bruno told BBC Sport. “Everyone sees things differently — from matches, interviews, or just moments on the pitch. That’s life. It would be boring if we all thought the same way.”

Bruno is close to scoring his 100th goal for Manchester United, a milestone he could reach during the derby. He recently redeemed himself after a missed penalty against Fulham by scoring a dramatic 97th-minute penalty against Burnley, helping United grab their first win of the season before the international break.

When asked about football’s biggest challenge, Bruno said it’s all about consistency. “You have to give your best every minute of the game. One mistake can change everything,” he explained.

He added that thinking of the team first is the most important rule in football. “Nothing is more important than the team. You must always put the team above everything else,” Bruno said with confidence.
