Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel reviewed the progress of the ‘PM-JANMAN’ scheme and gave key directions to officials during a meeting at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday. He emphasized that administrative efforts should focus on field-level cooperation and innovative approaches to ensure strong and quality construction. He urged exploring ways to reduce material costs, coordinate pricing, and promote the use of local and eco-friendly materials.
Governor Patel described the PM-JANMAN Yojana as a unique initiative for the welfare of tribal communities and upliftment of deprived sections. He stressed that housing strength should never be compromised and appealed for support from the prosperous sections of society to enhance the scheme’s impact. He added that priority should be given to the poorest beneficiaries, ensuring houses are strong, safe, and comfortable.
The Governor instructed regular site inspections to maintain construction quality and advised that beneficiaries should receive guidance on site selection, house size, and material availability. Officials informed him that local materials are being used in construction and self-help groups are contributing to brick-making. Efforts for environment-friendly construction practices were also highlighted.
Governor Patel reiterated that the PM-JANMAN scheme aims to build a harmonious society and called for community cooperation to complement government initiatives. He concluded that the program should holistically benefit tribal communities while maintaining high standards in housing development.
