Ground-Breaking Ceremony For Tipaturu PG Centre Kalpasiri

Empowerment of citizens will become a reality when they contribute to the growth of educational institutions, Dr C.N.Ashwath Narayan, Minister for Higher Education, said on Monday.

He was speaking after performing the groundbreaking ceremony for the establishment of Tipaturu Post Graduation Centre Kalpasiri at Keregodi Rangapura near here.

Saying that the 21 century is a knowledge-based sociecy, he claimed that educational institutions can become sustainable only if achieve standards in quality education. Post Graduation Centres located even in smaller towns should be able to attract students from across the country. This would enable educational centres to nurture diversity while adhering to the roots of regionality, Narayan opined.

The campus which will come up here in an area of 16 acres here will have courses of M.Com and MCA, he stated. Mentioning the developmental works in Tumakuru University, he informed, that in Bidarahalli a new campus is being built at a cost of Rs. 44 Crores. At Sira, the PG centre has been functioning. On the Tumakuru campus, developmental works are being taken up under the Smart City project. Tumakuru University should become a preferred destination for students across the country, Minister wished.

Earlier to this, he visited the first-grade college at Tipaturu and examined the progress of the construction of the college building.

Sri Guruparadeshikendra Maha Swamiji of Keregodi Ranagapura Mutt graced the occasion. BC Nagesh, Minister for School Education and Literacy, Tumakuru University VC Prof. Keshava, Raju, Syndicate members Raju, TS Sunil Prasad, Registrar Prof. Nirmal Raju and Finance Officer Prof. P Paramashivaiah participated.
