Liju Krishna, the director of the upcoming Nivin Pauly starrer film ‘Padavettu’ has been reportedly taken into police custody on the grounds of an alleged rape filed by a crew member in the film. As per the reports, following a complaint filed by a young woman, who has been part of the film crew, a case has been filed against the director Liju Krishna at the Kakkanad Infopark station. The upcoming film ‘Padavettu’ was the directorial debut of Liju Krishna and the script was penned down by the director himself. The reports also suggested that the shooting of the film ‘Padavettu’ which was happening in Kannur has been halted temporarily as the director was taken into custody by the police. The further works of the film are also said to be stopped considering the recent happening.
The film ‘Padavettu’ featured the actors Nivin Pauly, Manju Warrier, and Aditi Balan in lead roles. Touted as a political drama, the film was expected to wrap up its shoot in the month of February, and the makers aimed for a release date this year itself. With this mishap happening all of a sudden it’s unclear on further proceedings about the film.
‘Padavettu’ is bankrolled by the actor Sunny Wayne with whom Liju Krishna has worked previously for a play titled ‘Moment Just Before Death.’
