Office demand rises, vacancy rates hit lows

New Delhi

Office space vacancy in India’s top cities fell to 13.8 per cent in early 2026, dropping below 14 per cent for the first time since the pandemic. The fall is due to strong demand and fewer new buildings. A report said vacancy has been shrinking for eleven straight quarters. New office supply also declined sharply. Cities like Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, and Chennai led new development, while others saw none. Experts say steady leasing and demand from global firms are driving growth, keeping office markets stable and rentals firm across major business hubs in India.
