A luxury BMW car was found on the river Cauvery near the Nimishamba Temple of Srirangapatna. The surprise came to light when police investigated the car. The locals had informed police about car being found in the river.
The police then proceeded to inquire into the situation and remove the car from the river. It was learnt that a Bengaluru based man who was suffering from mental depression had drowned the car in the Cauvery River. Rupesh, a resident of Mahalaxmi Layout in Bengaluru, was suffering from mental depression after his mother passed away. He visited Srirangapatna in BMW war plunged into the river and returned.
His depression was known when the police investigated the car and brought the owner to the town station and inquired. The relatives were later summoned to the station and the case was cleared based on their statement.
