New announcement over ‘Chandramukhi 2’ starring Rajinikanth and Raghava Lawrence expected soon!

Rajinikanth’s ‘Chandramukhi’ was one of his best and the film ran in theatres for more than 2.5 years (800 and odd days) when it was released in 2005. Directed by P Vasu, the film is a remake of a Malayalam film. The film was a blockbuster hit and it featured Rajinikanth, Prabhu, Jyothika, nayanthara, Nasser, Malavika, Vadivelu among others. The film won many state awards as well.
The movie’s sequel ‘Chandramukhi 2’ was reportedly announced by director P Vasu in 2020 and the film will star Rajinikanth and Raghava Lawrence in the lead roles. It was also announced that the movie will be produced by Rajinikanth’s ‘Annaatthe’ team. According to media reports now, it is likely that the film will not be produced by the said production house but to be produced by the ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ team. The announcement is expected to be made soon. The excitement among fans had been high for ‘Chandramukhi 2’ since its announcement.
Actor Raghava Lawrence in 2020 took to social media to officially announce that he is part of the film and stated that he is very happy to work with Rajinikanth. Raghava Lawrence is a huge fan of the ‘superstar’. Raghava Lawrence in his post wrote, I want to share a happy news with you all. One of my next projects is my Thalaivar’s movie ‘Chandramukhi 2’. I’m so lucky to act in this project with Thalaivar’s permission and blessings which is directed by P Vasu sir and produced by my lucky producer Kalanithi Maran sir. With the advance I get from it, I humbly pledge to contribute 3 crore for Coronavirus relief fund, 50 lakh for the PM Cares fund, 50 lakh for Tamil Nadu Chief Minister relief fund and 50 lakh for Fefsi union. I also want to extend my special contribution of 50 lakh for my dancer’s union and 25 lakh for my physically abled boys and 75 lakh for daily labours and for people from my birth place Royapuram.
On the work front, Rajinikanth will begin shooting for the tentatively titled film ‘Thalaivar 169’ which is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Hopefully, Rajinikanth will start shooting for ‘Chandramukhi 2’ which will be the actor’s 150 th film.
