BBMP Commissiner Tushar Girinath instructed health authorities to take necessary precautions to prevent the increase in dengue cases as 331 cases have so far been detected in the BBMP range.
Addressing a virtual meeting on prevention of dengue cases in the city, he said the rain has already begun in the city and the rain water needs to be stopped.
Organize Campaigns and Awareness programs to educate citizens on the spread and control of dengue epidemic in the respective regions. He also instructed officials to be aware of the control of dengue through loudspeakers on BBMP Garbage vehicles.
In the respective BBMP Wards, he instructed ANM and Asha workers to hold door-to-door campaigns and create awareness among citizens, and identify larva-producing mosquitoes and areas. After identifying such areas, a group of gang men will visit the respective place and spray medicines in-order-to kill all the infectious mosquitoes.
All Primary Health Care Centers across city must have respective medicine stock for the treatment of dengue and also should contain medicines to control the spread of dengue. All primary mosquito control medicines in the urban primary health care center and all the medicines needed to treat the disease. Also, Tender Coconut Water sellers must discard the waste coconut shell every day without fail, he instructed.
Instructing BWSSB, BBMP Chief Nath said, Department must maintain cleanliness so that mosquitoes do not produce in the area where drinking water is stored. Drinking water pipes should be well-maintained so that the water flow doesn’t get disrupted. Also he instructed to clean the surroundings where the water gets accumulated, so that spread of mosquitoes will not increase.
The special commissioner of BBMP Health Department Dr. Trilok Chandra, Solid Waste Division Dr. Harish Kumar, Chief Health Officer Dr. Balasundar and other concerned officials were present at the virtual meet.
