English Lab dedicated during Job fair by Skill Development Minister

The Mangaluru regional branch of the International Immigration centre, which has the objective of providing potential employment opportunities to the youth of the state, was launched virtually by Dr CN Ashwatha Narayana, Minister for Skill Development, on Thursday.

Minister who inaugurated the Mega Job Fair organised at AJ Engineering campus at Kottara Chowki by State Skill Development Corporation also dedicated the English Lab set up under the ‘Make India Capable’ programme. He told, a batch of 300 candidates will be trained every 3 months in English language communication in the English lab set up here

Narayana said, Over 36,000 youth candidates will be taught skills this year free of cost under ‘Amruta Koushalya Training’. Further, he informed, this was the third such job fair organised in the state, after Belagavi and Kalburgi job fairs under ‘employment for all.

The shortfalls of the employment aspirants who participate in job fairs will be analysed and accordingly, they will be given training in required skills, he explained.

More than 10,000 youths have been accommodated through job fairs and with the aim of providing access to hassle-free information regarding employment opportunities government will set up ‘Skill Hub’ at Ramanagara. This centre will also facilitate to provide skill train through counselling, guidance related to entrepreneurship and soft skill training, he told.

Dr Bharat Shetty, MLA, speaking on the occasion said, that there is a need to establish an IT park in the city of Mangaluru. He also told that required land and other facilities for the purpose will be made available.

Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, Vedavyasa Kamat, MLA, Ashwin Gowda, MD, State Skill Development Corporation, Sanjeev Gupta, Sandeep Maini, Sudhakara Gudipati were among the present.
