The cabinet has approved for setting up of a CIPET Centre at Ballur (J) village of Aurad Assembly constituency in Bidar district, said Animal Husbandry minister Prabhu B Chauhan.
The minister has congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai, and Minister of State for Industries Murugesh Niranga and Union Minister of State for Industries Bhagavant Khuba for granting the center. The Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET) will be set up  on a 50:50 cost sharing basis between state and central government. Â
Since 2008, I had decided to develop the backward Aurad Taluk. The sustained efforts since 2009 have come to reality that CIPET center is being established in Aurad taluk.
By setting up the CIPET Center, training for the creation of 2000 jobs annually would benefit the youth of districts such as Bidar, Kalaburgi, Yadagir, Raichur, Koppal, Ballari and Vijayanagar to establish self-employment, the minister said.
It is intended to conduct a 180 Diploma course annually in the coming days. This will prevent people going to Hyderabad, Goa and Bengaluru in search of job as the same will be created locally, Minister Prabhu Chauhan said.
It will provide young people with technical skills through advanced training to develop skilled manpower in the plastic and petrochemicals industries.
The minister has thanked the district administration for reserving an area of 10 acres in Ballara (J) village for setting up the center.
The birth place of Basavanna will get international status by this facility. The district is becoming a historical one, the minister said.
Administrative approval has been given for construction of Anubhava mantapa and other related works at a cost of Rs 612 crore. An amount of Rs 10 crore is reserved in the budget for Basava Kalyana Development Board, the minister said.
