Turkish police, working with German authorities, have arrested Daniel Sobotta, an international fugitive wanted for drug trafficking, according to Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya.
Sobotta, listed under an urgent Interpol notice from Germany, was captured during the “KUYU-39” operation in Istanbul’s Sisli district. The exact timing of the operation was not disclosed. Investigations revealed that Sobotta coordinated with others to sell various narcotics through an encrypted communication app, earning substantial profits.
Turkey, a frequent transit hub for drug traffickers, has intensified its efforts against drug smuggling over the past year, aiming to disrupt such operations.
