Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has stirred excitement among fans by unveiling a moving new poster for his upcoming film Hridayapoorvam, which is set to release during Onam 2025. Along with the poster, he announced that the much-awaited trailer would be out today at 5 PM IST, giving audiences a glimpse into one of the year’s most emotional stories.
The film is directed by veteran filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad, marking his 10th collaboration with Mohanlal. Together, the duo has delivered some of Malayalam cinema’s most heartfelt and realistic films since the 1980s. In Hridayapoorvam, they bring to life the story of Sandeep, a man who survives with a heart transplant and later develops a deep emotional connection with the family of his donor.
The concept is inspired by true-life cases where organ recipients claim to sense the feelings or memories of their donors. With a screenplay by Sonu T. P. and a story from Akhil Sathyan, the film blends personal storytelling with universal emotions.
Produced by Antony Perumbavoor under Aashirvad Cinemas, the project features a talented ensemble including Malavika Mohanan, Sangeeth Prathap, Sangita Madhavan Nair, Siddique, Lalu Alex, Baburaj, and S. P. Charan. Music is composed by Justin Prabhakaran, with Anu Moothedath handling cinematography and K. Rajagopal editing.
Scheduled for release on August 28, just ahead of the Onam festival, Hridayapoorvam promises to capture the spirit of family, culture, and shared emotions — making it one of the season’s most anticipated films.
