Man smuggles red sandalwood I Pushpa style, held

KR Pura police on Saturday have arrested red sandalwood thief who was illegally smuggling red sandalwood inspired by the recent film Pushpa.
Abdul Rehman (25) of Bettamangala New Town in Kolar District KGF taluk was arrested and seized 6 sandalwood weighing 250 kg worth about 20 lakh.
Abdul Rahman (25), the accused from Kolar district, KGF Taluk Bethamangala Town. He has seized 6 sandalwood weighing about 250 kg, worth about Rs 20 lakh.
He was accused by his associates of bringing cinema-style wooden blocks to Bangalore for sale at a high price, in order to make money for fun and luxury.
As per the information police received, accused was standing with Hyundai car on Medahalli-Bhattarahalli service road on Old Madras road. It is certain that he tried to illegally sell 6 red sandalwood pieces without a license during the trial. All pieces of red sandalwood was seized and also the car was confiscated. Case has been registered at KRPura police station.
Inspector M Ambarish, PSI Rajesh and other staff members were part of this operation.
