Aston Villa has extended Morgan Rogers’ stay at Villa Park with a new contract running until 2030. The 22-year-old midfielder has been a key player under manager Unai Emery this season, earning recognition for his consistent performances.
Rogers, who originally signed a contract until 2029, joined Aston Villa in February 2024 from Middlesbrough in a deal worth £8 million, with an additional £7 million in potential add-ons. He made an impactful debut during a 5-0 victory against Sheffield United and has since made 22 league appearances. His first goal for Villa came in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Brentford in April.
This season, Rogers has contributed three goals and three assists, alongside several standout performances. His efforts earned him a call-up to the England senior squad, where he debuted against Greece in the latest international fixtures.
Before joining Aston Villa, Rogers played for Middlesbrough, where he tallied seven goals and eight assists, including a memorable goal against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final. Earlier in his career, he developed through the youth ranks at West Bromwich Albion and Manchester City, with loan spells at Lincoln City, Blackpool, and Bournemouth, where he helped secure Premier League promotion.
With this new contract, Villa solidifies Rogers’ place in their future plans, reflecting his growing influence in the squad.
