Kamal Haasan has followed in the footsteps of Ajith Kumar by requesting that fans, media, and political supporters refer to him without any titles or prefixes. The renowned actor, often called ‘Ulaganayagan’ or ‘Aandavar’ by his admirers, expressed his wish to be simply addressed as Kamal Haasan, Kamal, or KH.
In a heartfelt statement, Kamal explained, I humbly request that my fans, the media, the film industry, party members, and fellow Indians, call me Kamal Haasan, Kamal, or KH from now on. He acknowledged the affection behind the titles he’s been given, such as ‘Ulaganayagan,’ and expressed his gratitude for these endearing names.
However, Kamal emphasized that he views cinema as a collective art form, belonging to everyone involved, not just the individual performer. He stated, The artist should not be elevated above the art. I remain a student of cinema, always learning and growing. Kamal’s decision to forgo the use of prefixes stems from his desire to stay humble and grounded, focusing on his craft rather than personal accolades.
This change comes after Ajith Kumar made a similar request in 2021, urging his fans to call him by his name, Ajith, without any titles. Kamal’s move reflects a shared belief in maintaining a humble approach to fame and recognition.
