External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Canberra on Wednesday to discuss ways to further deepen the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Jaishankar conveyed the warm greetings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Albanese during the meeting.
Jaishankar, who is on an official visit to Australia from November 3-7, expressed his appreciation for Albanese’s guidance in strengthening bilateral ties. On social media, Jaishankar noted, “Delighted to call on PM Anthony Albanese in Canberra today. Conveyed warm greetings of PM @narendramodi. Value his guidance for deepening India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.”
Earlier, Jaishankar met Peter Dutton, leader of the Liberal Party of Australia, where they exchanged views on global issues and discussed the importance of the India-Australia relationship. He also held talks with New Zealand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Winston Peters, covering topics such as education, technology, agriculture, and people-to-people ties, along with regional and global issues.
Additionally, Jaishankar met the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in Canberra, continuing efforts to reinforce India’s relations with the UAE.
Jaishankar’s visit underscores India’s focus on strengthening diplomatic and strategic ties with key partners across the Indo-Pacific region.
