New Delhi
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Civil Aviation unveiled a Medical Inspection Room at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan in New Delhi. This facility will be staffed by a doctor and a nurse, offering essential primary healthcare services.
Vipin Kumar, the Chairman of the Airports Authority of India (AAI), highlighted the importance of this initiative. He stated, Employees or individuals can sometimes experience medical issues while working. Without nearby healthcare, this could lead to serious incidents. Therefore, under the guidance of our Civil Aviation Minister, we have established this Medical Inspection Room on campus. Medical staff will be present during working hours to provide immediate assistance. If necessary, patients can be referred to nearby hospitals.
Kumar also noted the significant changes happening in the aviation sector. Over the past decade, the number of airports has more than doubled, and air travel is increasingly becoming the preferred mode of transportation. He emphasized that it’s crucial to construct new airports and improve facilities to ensure that both domestic and international travelers have positive experiences in India.
Additionally, the AAI recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DRIIV (Delhi Research Implementation and Innovation). This collaboration aims to boost innovation, enhance safety, and promote sustainable growth within the aviation industry, highlighting a commitment to creating a supportive ecosystem for start-ups and advancing technology in aviation.
