Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation for development projects worth over ₹4,800 crore in Amreli district, Gujarat, on October 28. This initiative includes nearly 1,600 projects across several districts such as Amreli, Jamnagar, and Junagadh, focusing on improving infrastructure and water supply.

Among the projects is a ₹705 crore water supply initiative from the Gujarat Water Supply Department. One highlight is the Bharat Mata Sarovar, a new reservoir on the Gagadio River, which costs ₹35 crore. PM Modi will inaugurate this reservoir and also lay the groundwork for 1,000 water recharge systems, including pits and borewells, valued at ₹20 crore. Additionally, he will inaugurate 590 completed water projects.

In the transportation sector, the Prime Minister will oversee NHAI projects worth over ₹2,800 crore to enhance highway connectivity in Gujarat. He will also launch the Bhuj-Naliya gauge conversion project for ₹1,094 crore to improve rail connectivity.

A key water supply project is the Navda-to-Chavand pipeline, which will provide daily water for approximately 67 lakh people across 1,298 villages and 36 cities in the region, adding 28 crore liters of water daily. The Bharat Mata Sarovar will be expanded to store a total of 4.5 crore liters, ensuring better water access for the community.
