Hassan Ali Osman Mahmoud, the Charge d’affaires at the UAE embassy, strongly denied accusations about an attack on the UAE Ambassador’s residence in Khartoum, calling them fabricated. In September, the UAE claimed that a Sudanese military aircraft targeted the ambassador’s residence, which Abu Dhabi condemned as a heinous attack.

Mahmoud explained that on September 29, the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement alleging that the Sudanese Army bombed the ambassador’s residence. He insisted, these allegations are false. We do not attack diplomatic sites in Khartoum. He also called on India and the international community to exert pressure on the UAE for support and humanitarian assistance.

In response to the rising tensions following these claims, India’s Ministry of External Affairs stated that it is monitoring the security situation in Sudan. Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal emphasized the importance of respecting the inviolability of diplomatic premises and expressed concern over the reported attack.

The Sudanese military government attributed the accusations to the rival paramilitary group, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), claiming that the UAE supports the RSF in the ongoing conflict. This war has devastated the country, resulting in tens of thousands of deaths and a severe humanitarian crisis. Sudan’s UN ambassador previously accused Abu Dhaabi of providing financial and military aid to the RSF, which he argued has prolonged the conflict.
