The MahaYuti alliance, consisting of the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP, is optimistic about finalizing a seat-sharing agreement on the auspicious day of Gurupushyamrut Yog, following a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Sources within the alliance indicate that there are still about 30 seats where the partners haven’t reached a consensus.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has traveled to Delhi for discussions, while Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and NCP leader Ajit Pawar arrived in the capital earlier. The alliance has already announced candidates for 182 of the 288 seats BJP (99), Shiv Sena (45), and NCP (38) but still needs to decide on nominees for the remaining 106.

Originally, a meeting with Amit Shah was scheduled for Wednesday night but didn’t happen because the message didn’t reach Shinde in time. After visiting Goddess Kamakhya in Guwahati, he flew to Goa for a BJP event. The meeting has now been rescheduled for Thursday morning, allowing Fadnavis and Pawar to remain in Delhi for the discussions. The alliance aims for social engineering in their candidate selection, favoring continuity by re-nominating many sitting legislators to minimize dissent.
