An incident occurred in Bhosari’s Sadguru Nagar on Thursday when a large water tank at a public toilet collapsed, killing at least three contract workers and injuring six others. The disaster struck around 7:30 a.m., during a busy time when many locals were using the facility to wash clothes and bathe.
Witnesses reported hearing strange sounds just before the tank, filled to capacity, suddenly gave way, sending a rush of water and debris through the area. As rescue efforts began, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police and Fire Brigade arrived, along with disaster relief teams, to assist in locating the victims.
Three bodies have been recovered so far, while search teams continue to dig through the rubble, hoping to find others who may still be trapped. Many of the victims were working at nearby construction sites. Local officials and volunteers are actively involved in the rescue operation, focusing on specific areas where witnesses believe people may be buried. The site has been cordoned off to ensure safety, and rescue teams are working quickly to clear the debris and reach anyone who might still be inside. Further updates on the situation are expected as efforts continue.
