Cyclone Dana is expected to hit the coasts of West Bengal and Odisha on October 24-25. In response, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) in the North-East region is taking important steps to protect lives and property at sea. They are closely watching the situation and preparing for any emergencies caused by the cyclone.
The ICG has deployed ships, aircraft, and Remote Operating Stations in West Bengal and Odisha to issue regular weather updates and safety advice for fishermen and mariners. Continuous alerts are being sent out, urging fishing boats to return to shore and find safe shelter.
Additionally, ICG personnel are collaborating with local authorities and disaster management teams to ensure an effective response. Fishing communities have been informed through village leaders to stay away from the sea until the cyclone passes. The ICG is on high alert, ready to assist with rescue and relief efforts.
