Air India and Singapore Airlines (SIA) have announced an expansion of their codeshare agreement on Wednesday, adding 51 new destinations to their network. This expansion includes 11 Indian cities and 40 international destinations, effective from Oct 27.

With this agreement, Air India and SIA will increase their weekly codeshare flights between Singapore and Bengaluru and Chennai from 14 to 56. SIA will codeshare on Air India’s domestic routes, including flights between Delhi and several cities like Amritsar and Varanasi, and from Mumbai to Ahmedabad, Goa, and others.

Nipun Aggarwal, Air India’s Chief Commercial Officer, expressed excitement over the increased connectivity, emphasizing the benefits for both airlines’ customers traveling across South East Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

Air India passengers will gain access to 29 new destinations within SIA’s network, covering cities in Australia, Japan, South Korea, and Vietnam, among others. Meanwhile, SIA customers can connect to Air India’s international services from major Indian cities to 12 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Lee Lik Hsin, SIA’s Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted the commitment to meeting the growing demand for air travel between India and Singapore, adding that further destinations will be included in the future.

This marks the first major update to the codeshare partnership since 2010, significantly enhancing travel options for customers flying between Singapore and India.
