The Moin-ul-Haq Stadium in Patna is set to host three key Ranji Trophy matches this season, with games scheduled for Oct, Nov, and January. The Bihar cricket team, competing in the Elite Group C of the Ranji Trophy, will play its first home match against Karnataka from October 26-29, followed by a second game against Madhya Pradesh from November 6-9. Their third home game will take place in January.
Rakesh Tiwari, President of the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) on Wednesday, expressed his excitement, saying, ‘We are thrilled to host these Ranji Trophy matches at the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium. Playing at home gives the team a crucial advantage, and we are confident our players will perform well.’
The stadium, which has hosted nine international matches since its opening in 1969, provides a familiar setting for the Bihar team. Home advantage proved beneficial during the Plate matches a few seasons ago, and the BCA hopes this will help the team secure strong performances in the upcoming fixtures.
Bihar’s recent match against Bengal was abandoned due to rain and a wet outfield, but the team is eager to bounce back against Karnataka on October 26 at their home ground. The local crowd is expected to play a key role in supporting the team through these crucial matches.
