India has reaffirmed its commitment as a first responder in crises, with Lebanon’s Ambassador to India, Rabie Narsh, commending the country’s swift humanitarian assistance amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia. At a press conference on Friday, Narsh expressed gratitude for India’s proactive support, noting that India offered around 30 tonnes of medical supplies to Lebanon even before requests were made.

He highlighted the enduring friendship between India and Lebanon, which has strengthened since both nations gained independence over 70 years ago. Narsh also urged the United States to reconsider its support for Israel, labeling Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu a ‘war criminal’ due to international warrants for alleged war crimes.

As part of its humanitarian response, India has already dispatched 11 tonnes of medical supplies to Lebanon, with a total of 33 tonnes planned. The shipment includes vital medications like antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs. Additionally, India expressed concern for the safety of UN peacekeepers along the Blue Line after recent attacks on UN facilities.
